National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Academic Duration

In the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) academic duration is calculated in semesters rather than sessions, though two semesters make a session but depend on an individual.

In NOUN an individual can decide to run a semester per year that is, a session in two years probably due to one thing or the other (that is where flexibility comes in.)

Most NOUN academic disciplines are four years and can be run in a maximum of eight years.
Law program is five years, a maximum of ten years the same is applicable to every other five years programs.
Postgraduate programs are three semesters (18 months.)

The first semester usually starts from January to June while the second semester runs for the rest six months of the year. New students are absorbed in both semesters.
Below is the official NOUN Academic Calendar.
